Genesis of WBVHA

A need emerged in the year 1969
  • lTo set up a national forum of the non-governmental health care organization involved in social and health work to co-ordinate and strengthen the concerned NGO
  • To establish a common platform of the health care NGOs to communicate, exchange and share each one’s ideas and experience for a greater interest.

WBVHA was born in the state to cater the need in 1974

We work throughout 19 districts in the state from Dooars in the north to the Sunderbans in the deep south and also in some part of the north east
We also concentrate on the least developed areas of our state

 

WBVHA Manpower 

  • 2 full time staff (direct)

  • 40 full time staff (indirect)

  • 20 consultants

  • 100 volunteers

  • 30 Govt. Personnel associated with WBVHA

  • 25 people associated with WBVHA from the organisation of International importance

 

WBVHA Reach
  • 50 NGOs getting direct support

  • 300 NGOs getting indirect support

  • 2,000 WBVHA trained health workers working with NGOs

  • 10,000 health workers trained via Distance Learning Program

  • 1000 schools had been covered by WBVHA

  • 70,000 students received orientation from WBVHA at the School level.
