On 20th August 2003 erosion took a major form

Kaliachak I and II, English Bazar and Manik Chowk – These four blocks are worst affected

Seven villages including Hazarattola, Nasrattolla, Jahantola and Kabirtola had been totally wiped out
n200 ft bank erosion has already been taken place…….Ganga can invade Pagla if 200 ft more erosion takes place
Ganga is intending to change her route (already shifted 8 km from her original position) which may leave its conventional route through Farakka Barrage totally abandoned
nGanga is marked as border between Malda in WB and Rajmahal in Jharkhand so the added land in the other bank goes to Jharkhand

Belybridge is the only communication mean between 30,000 people with the mainland part in India……a newly constructed embankment is getting strengthened to save the bridge
Ganga Bhawan, the official guest house of Dept. of Irrigation, GoWB is totally under Ganga

Please help the distresses people
