Objectives of NGO Support Service
Strengthening the capacity of NGO personnel
Helping NGOs in undertaking surveys, thus helping them to assess community needs  
Supporting NGOs in developing need-based project involving people at the community level
Assisting NGOs in Monitoring and Evaluation of their work for understanding their present  status, impact assessment and future plan

NGO Support Service

NGOs are taking an increasingly significant role in providing health care and bringing about positive changes are often unable to achieve the mark of excellency in terms of planning and management, it has been proven beyond doubt that NGOs are indispensable to health promotion because of the flexibility of their programs and the extent of penetration.  The government has also realized the potential of NGOs to reach the grassroots level and to implement the programs in an innovative way. This has thus helped integration of government and NGO work.  

Support services are provided in the following areas:

  • Formulation of need-based project proposals involving local people

  • Survey and Research

  • Pre-funding Appraisal

  • Project monitoring and evaluation

  • Planning of activities – means and cost and time frame

  • Consultation to the NGOs System development for reporting and documentation

  • Formation of district level network

  • Capacity Building of the NGO personnel in project management

  • Self-financing mechanism and long-term sustainability

  • Supporting national, international funding agencies by way of technical guidance to their field partners in West Bengal and in other states like Orissa, Manipur and even the country like Bangladesh.
