Aims & Objectives :

Assist in providing primary health care
services aimed at improving the health of the people. |

Promote community health, social justice and
human rights related to the provision and distribution of health service. |

Promote the highest possible level of health
care through planned use of the available resources in collaboration with Government. It
is considered as a socio-economic and developmental activity. |

Promote education in health care by
establishing or assisting the existing institutions. |

Promote greater co-operation among voluntary
as well as government health agencies by undertaking joint coverage of community health
work. |

Collaborate with other health agencies
working in the area to ensure conservation of resources and as wide public health as
possible. |

Collect exchange and disseminate health
information as well as to do research in the area. |

Conduct Training Programme, Seminar or
Workshops, Conferences etc. related to health and development work. |

Represent voluntary health services in
conferring with statewide organisation relating to health matters and to present the views
of voluntary health agencies to legislative bodies, government units and national or
international agencies active in the area of health. |
WBVHA fulfils the above objectives through campaigning,
Policy Research, Press & Parliament Advocacy, Need based training, Information and
Documentation services, Production and distribution of innovative health education
materials and packages, in the form of print and Audio-visuals for a wide spectrum of
users both urban and rural. |
