WBVHA, since its inception more than two
decades ago, has been working with small groups and NGOs in various parts of West Bengal.
The experience of the last two decades has convinced WBVHA that though currently behind
southern and western states in terms of NGO activities, West Bengals potential for
harnessing grass-root level voluntary action through small groups is immense and is mostly
disorganised.
Due to the interplay of various factors, the climate has not been fully
conducive for greater development of NGO activities, but now it seems that things are
changing for the better. It indicates this is the right time to make a united effort to
join the small groups already operating even if not so pronounced, provide them with
necessary support both materially and professionally.
WBVHA has been performing this task in its own way
besides providing fund through its NGO Support Service Unit. But considering the gravity
of the task, it needs to be undertaken as a special project. WBVHA has extended
fund-channeling support to NGOs besides technical and financial input. Following are the
